Luxury is among our top priorities for expanding round tables at Lotus Woodworks. This blog will look further into their framework and what puts them at the top of high-end furniture.
The Essence of Luxury in Dining Tables

Definition of Luxury
You can’t fake luxury. Our expanding round tables incorporate genuine hardwoods and exotic woods handcrafted with quality finishes to create a beautiful, genuine masterpiece. Not only do our materials establish luxurious visuals, but they’re also durable and long-lasting so that your table stays looking brand new for years to come.
Sourcing Sustainable Wood
The selection and procurement of sustainable, high-quality wood for our tables are tailored to the specific wood species needed. We obtain our supply from a local distributor here in the Valley for American wood tables, such as cherry, walnut, and oak.
For exotic wood varieties like teak, bubinga, or afrormosia, we secure our materials from a distributor based in Maryland. Similarly, our veneer and burl wood tables are supplied by multiple suppliers, with the choice depending on factors like size, quantity, and the particular wood species required.

Artistry in Finishes
Exploring Finish Options
At Lotus Woodworks, we offer various finish options, each uniquely impacting your expanding round table’s appearance. Our finishes include a two-part custom color toning/glaze or a multiple-coat flat or satin conversion varnish top coat; both are included in the starting price.
For our grain-filled high gloss finishes, variable contrasting colors, or any finish requirements that exceed time and materials, there’s an up-charge and will add to the production time.
The Application Process
Our most common finishing process is a multi-step process that combines vinyl sealing and coloring, followed by a conversion varnish top coat that can achieve a matte to high gloss sheen. The process begins with a light application of clear vinyl, which seals and raises the wood grain.
Following this, we perform a second round of sanding before applying additional layers of vinyl, incorporating the necessary color requirements in each coat. Once the desired color is achieved, we apply two coats of conversion varnish.
This is the typical application process for our expanding round tables, but our high-gloss grain-filled finishes, such as those found on the Honey and Norman tables, demand an entirely different and more time-consuming sealing process.
Customization and Personalization
Our customers have the freedom to select the leaf size, type of wood, base design, and finish for their tables. In addition to the choices included in our initial pricing, we offer additional customizations for those who want to further elevate the individuality of their table.
